poor service denied claim for a genuine claim have always paid for vet bills myself for foot abcess,s etc when my horse was injured badly they denied claim because of small print

Only held a policy with E&L for a year was not impressed with the customer service as they were rude and did seem to know what they were talking about. If you need a monthly repayment policy then steer clear you have to pay luna monthly which is confusing. Also if you are not happy with E&L then be carful when choosing a new insurer as they sell horse insurance using other company names but you are still insured by E&L.

Terrible customer service. Had to fight to get paid out. It took me over 12 months to finally get any money from them and that was after i threatened to take them to the ombudsman. It was a very upsetting time as my horse needed surgery and i did not need the added stress.

Absolutely appalling. Have been with them for 5 years. Recently had to claim for a tooth extraction and even then had to fight to get it paid. Because of this claim even though there are 2 more suspect teeth, one right at the back of the mouth E&L have now excluded teeth and gums so I am going have to stump up £3K+ for the procedure if its needed. Also I once called out my vet 2 years ago!because one of my horses had mud fever. E&L have now excluded dermatitis and related conditions. Am now desperate to find another insurer.

Expensive not customer friendly,won't honour claims been a customer for years they've cost me a fortune now cancelled my policies wouldn't recomend.

totally appalling - i removed both my horses after they refused to honour a claim and they also lost a third horse at the time and now I have another horse they definitely wont get that either. appalling service and an atrocious company

awful company, do not touch with a barge pole! Had to have my horse put down due to botchulism and we had to ring and ask their permission to put the horse down! bearing in mind botchulism is off a similiar strain to grass sickness! took ages to pay out and generally very unhelpful people

Absolutely appalling!!!!! Took months and months to pay up for one claim and then didn't pay the next. Cancelled my policy in the end and gave up. Steer well clear - you would get better value for mon

Were prompt to settle my 1st claim, but took over 2 months to settle the 2nd and I got threatened with court action from the vets because they wanted payment. Customer service is sometimes quite poor

I was insured 10 yrs ago with this company. There was an accident in an adjoining field to where I was jumping my mare. An adult who was learning to ride came off and broke her ankle. A year or so lat
